I made a fresh batch of plush mushrooms this weekend, shown above. The pair on the mossy birch base is about 6″ tall, sewn from cotton fabric and felt. Nestled underneath is a yellow inchworm sporting a bakery twine scarf. The individual mushrooms are about 4″ tall, surrounded by moss. These are now available on etsy.
In progress
Easter really snuck up quickly this year, didn’t it? To make up for lost time, this bunny is speeding along in his carrot car so he can wrap up last-minute supply-gathering. You know, foil-covered chocolate eggs, those oversized malted milk ball eggs from Li-Lac Chocolates, jelly beans….
The car is about 7″ long from tip to tail, and the bunny with car is about 3 1/2″ tall. This is mostly made of felt, with a little cotton fabric for the inside of the ears, seed bead eyes, and wire goggles to protect his eyes when he gets going really fast. The carrot top is a feather, the wheels are buttons, and the “flames” down the sides are orange rick-rack.
I have supplies to make three of these, but think it’s too late to put in etsy because et-ster is right around the corner. Please contact me directly if you want one.
Vroooom!
I made a batch of wooden pedestals recently, because not unlike cats, crafts like to climb up on things so they can observe everything around them from a perch.
The pedestals shown here are trimmed with felt cut to look like lawn, and pink tweed flowers with felt leaves. And some also have a touch of wee rick-rack. The small ones have a round plate 4″ in diameter, and are almost 4″ tall. The larger ones have an oval 5×7″ plate, and are about 7″ tall.
They look nice stacked, and with any type of special object on them, such as a nice chicken.
I made these for Parcel, with extras to sell myself, but Nancy at Parcel wanted them all, so that’s where they are.
I bought these shoes because I like the shape, love the green leather, and knew they would be perfect for a little embellishment. I have a stash of vintage crystal buttons that lend themselves to the purdy-fication of most anything, so I sewed them on with red thread for a little pop.
These have held up for years, except for the time that dorkwad in the subway came down on my foot really hard, causing me to emit an explitive, and a button to be lost in the chaos of a morning commute.
