Felt mitten photo ornaments

It wasn’t until after Christmas last year that I was able to snap these iconic Toddler Sledding in Puffy Snowsuit pics, so that helps explain why I’m a year late making these ornaments.

I made six pair, one for our tree and five for gifts. The mittens’ foundation is robin’s-egg-blue wool felt and a photograph, sewn together, then pinked with a scalloped shears. Then I cut “picture frame” windows and gave them a snowy, glittery border. I used red Martha Stewart glitter glue to write the names, dates, and a border row of dots across each mitten. Each ornament pair is joined by red seam binding ribbon, so they look like toddler mittens in that regard as well.
